Ukraine is a major trading partner of the European Union and has strong trade relations with many of its Member States. Ukraine is the EU’s seventh-largest trading partner in merchandise trade and the fifth-largest in services trade. The EU continues to be Ukraine’s largest trading partner, with a share of around 40% of total Ukrainian trade. The EU is also the main investor in Ukraine. The EU–Ukraine Association Agreement, which entered into force in 2017, provides for a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) between the EU and Ukraine, which will strengthen trade and economic links between the two sides.
